You Guys! I found an AMAZING offer for you! I was thinking about who I’d like to kick off my Author Chats with, and happened to get in touch with the marvelous Isabella White, who writes absolutely wonderful and gripping books. Her stories are unique and offer up not just the good, but the bad and the ugly. She makes romance REAL, which is why I love her. I know we all love our predictable series of events: boy meets girl, they fall head over heels, there’s some perceived issue (usually a misunderstanding) that threatens to break them apart, then they find out it was all a mistake and all is well again, BUT, sometimes we need a little more substance in our fiction. That’s where Isabella comes in. She throws the curve ball, hits a little too close to home, but gives us that happy ending anyway, which makes it so much more satisfying for having gone through the struggle with the characters.
But enough of my rambling. Without further ado, let’s chat with Isabella.
First, tell us a little bit more about you. What made you become a writer?
I just love everything about books. I used to be a reader devouring them but then I wanted to read certain type of books that I struggled to find. I know they are somewhere out there, but at that stage I struggled. And that was when I wrote the books I wanted to read. I fell in love crafting characters and worlds and that is how I became a writer. I would never change it for anything in this world.
What do you love most about being a writer?
It doesn’t feel like work, hahahaha. You can literally work for 8 hours straight and you do not feel tired like you do with any other job out there. I guess it’s what they mean when they said if you love your job you don’t work a single day in your life. I love the rules I can break, the people I can kill and do not have to go to jail, hahahaha. Many things. Falling in love a thousand times. There is no ending with anything if you are a writer. I love it all.
So let’s talk about your books in The 4ever Series. I was drawn to this set because they break the mold a little. You follow the same character through multiple books, that’s not something I see a lot in Romance these days. What made you decide to follow your character this way? Was there anything that particularly motivated or inspired this series?
Yes a long time ago. My best friend died from high blood pressure during pregnancy in her first trimester. She got a stroke and that was it. She was only 27 years old. The sad thing about it all was that I so wish there was a cure, like the P47 in the book, out there that could help or prevent Preeclampsia as so many woman suffer from this through pregnancy and I guess in a way her tragedy evolved into The 4ever series as she was one of those people that could live 4ever. I still miss her a lot and think about her regularly. Where Holly and Jake came from, hahahaha, they just popped into my head one day and I introduced them to preeclampsia and the first book was formed. It originally had a happy ending but then my sadistic side decided to throw them a huge curve and the ending was not so HEA at the end of the first book. And that is how the Second book Secret Love was born. Endless Love is the last novel and it does have a HEA. So the series ends in a HEA.
What was the hardest part of writing these books?
The Sex scenes. It’s vivid and thank heavens for dirty editors. Hahahaha. I’d learn a lot from mine. She’s not dirty but she can really say a thing as it should be. Hahahahaha
What was your favorite part?
The sex scenes, no I’m only kidding. It was one of them. I loved my characters. Jake’s family is brilliant, and enjoy delving into their characters. Amelia is a sister no one had, his father is a goofball. Ben is only six and his only brother. Mara was great to developed too, and yes, she is a person that actually exists, not in her form, but the demeanor so she is not far fetched as some of you think. Robin his other sister. I love creating new characters and this family really crawled into my heart and it is so hard to let go.
What else (if anything) would you like readers to know about this series?
TRY IT. Imperfect Love is for free. Just try it please. It’s different, yes, it’s sad, but it’s at the same time so beautiful. So please, just grab Imperfect Love and read it. Make up your own mind. It’s not for everyone, but who knows, maybe you will love it as much as I do.
